5. Mount Tavurvur it hosts an active volcano, small in size but rather treacherous. After reaching the base by canoe, the climbing begins to reach the summit and admire it from above Rabaul and the whole bay. Along the beach there are hot springs. It is advisable not to get too close because the high temperature and the sulfur released could take your breath away.
4. Varirata National Park it is the ideal place for birdwatchers. During the walking route it is possible to encounter different species of Paradise birds. The place can be reached by car or motorbike, then continue on foot with a bag on your shoulder. The trails are worth walking as the panoramic views over the countryside and up Port Moresby they are spectacular.
3. Mount Wilhelm offers an unforgettable travel experience. You climb above 3.000 meters to see trees and waterfalls which are visible nowhere else in the world. There are refuges along the route. Much appreciated by tourists is the tour around the island by canoe. There are guides who accompany visitors to discover Kitava. The most practiced sporting activity is snorkeling, where it is possible to swim on the surface among colorful fish.
1. Kokoda Trail it's a fantastic experience. You must show up for the appointment physically prepared, nothing must be left to chance. The route of approximately 100 kilometers involves crossing rivers, mountains and waterfalls surrounded by a wild nature. It takes several days to travel the route, depending on the type of path you decide to take.
