Bayahibe, Punta Cana, Boca Chica and the most beautiful tropical paradises in the country of Santo Domingo
If you love the sea, that of Dominican Republic it is among the clearest that exist. If you are looking for beautiful beaches, this is where the most beautiful ones in the Caribbean are concentrated. If you are looking for heat, the sun is guaranteed here.
Between the two most famous places in the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana and La Romana, both served by two international airports with direct flights from Italy, there are fabulous, long beaches with impalpable white sand, lined with thick palm trees that provide shade during the hours warmer. Beaches overlooking waters with a thousand shades of green and blue and different depending on which they overlook Carribean Sea or onAtlantic Ocean, two seas that meet precisely at this point.
The long one Punta Cana beach, the most famous location, where many resorts, but also residences and low-cost hotels are concentrated, is simply fabulous. Playa Bávaro, located in Punta Cana, was the beach of the Dominicans before it became a tourist destination, but when it was discovered that it was beautiful it began to be very frequented. Today, the small beaches of Macau wind along its 10 kilometers, one of the few public beaches, that of Uvero Alto, Roco Ki and Playa La Vacama.
La Bayahibe beach, a fishing village, is long and beautiful and the sea is transparent. Excursions to the islands of Saona and Catalina depart from its small port. Saona it is a must see for anyone visiting the Dominican Republic. 22 km long and 5 km wide, it is a protected park and natural sanctuary that is part of the Parque National del Este. A few pastel-coloured wooden houses, a village and above all a fairytale sea. Most tours stop at one point on the island, but if you want to find yourself completely alone, choose there Canto de la Playa beach.
Like the island of Saona, too Catalina it is part of the Eastern National Park and is a true Caribbean paradise. This small tropical island is located between La Altagracia and La Romana and has fabulous beaches with sand dunes (part of it is rocky, however), but is famous for snorkelling and diving: it is one of the few places to spot the cat shark, also it is close to a beautiful coral reef.
