Where to Stay in Koh Samui
First of all it must be said that the most beautiful beaches of Ko Samui are located on the eastern side of the island, in particular the most popular places are Chaweng e Lamai.
The north coast also offers good options to stay in Koh Samui, such as the beaches of Maenam e Bophut, quieter but with less beautiful sea than Lamai and Chaweng.
Chaweng in Chaweng Noi
The most beautiful beaches on the island are certainly found in the Chaweng area, one of the best solutions to stay overnight in Koh Samui. Chaweng, however, is quite long and the beach is not all the same, plus a distinction must be made between Chaweng in Chaweng Noi.
I would avoid North Chaweng, which is the one with the least beautiful sea where the beach takes on a muddy aspect, not exactly inviting.
Much better the central or southern part. The central area of Chaweng is also the busiest, with clubs, bars and restaurants.
South of Chaweng is Chaweng Noi Beach, beautiful sea and beach, the only thing is that there is not much for the evening, if you are looking for a little fun you have to get to Chaweng, close but not reachable on foot.
If you are looking for a beautiful beach with a beautiful sea but at the same time not far from the center of Chaweng, I would say the best solution is to look for a hotel in Cheweng South.
Council: to better distinguish the different areas of Chaweng, just see the various hotels on google map, for example the Ozo Hotel is located right in the center, where there is more movement, the Seascape Beach is located in South Chaweng, while the Fist Beach bungalow at the beginning of Chaweng Noi.

If you prefer to stay in a quieter area and at lower prices, South Chaweng offers good hotels such as: Seascape Beach Resort o il Chaweng Cove Beach Resort.

The area can be a good solution to stay in Ko Samui for those looking for a quiet place for a relaxing holiday. At the same time you will be close to the movement of Chaweng and Lamai, reachable with a few minutes by taxi or scooter.

SAMUI NORD: BOPHUT
North Samui certainly does not stand out for the beautiful sea, indeed it is perhaps the one with the sea among the worst on the island. However, if you are looking for a quieter area then the north area and in particular the village of Bophut can be for you, ideal for couples or families.
The strength of Bophut is the Fisherman's Village, a quaint village, with restaurants and shops. As I said, however, the beach and the sea are not that great, so it's better to choose other areas, such as Lamai or Chaweng and then spend an evening at Fisherman's Village.

Choeng Mon is about 15 minutes by taxi from the nightlife of Chaweng and from the characteristic Fisherman’s Village.
