who visits Barcelona For a few days you will not be able to avoid taking advantage of the splendid view that you can enjoy from highest point of the city, on Mount Tibidabo.
Tibidabo is, in reality, a 512 meter high hill and constitutes the highest peak of the Collserola chain. On this hill is also located one of the oldest amusement parks in Europe, since it was built in 1899.
Il Tibidabo park It is an attraction much loved by children, but adults also find the visit very pleasant, thanks to thepanoramic and green area all around.
With the ticket you can access all the attractions and walk through the entire Park area. Visitors have plenty to choose from: between Roller coaster, Castle of Terror, Automata Museum or giradabo, a huge ferris wheel 20 meters in diameter.
The most beloved attraction, however, is the plane, dating from 1928, is a faithful reproduction of the plane that made the first trip between Barcelona and Madrid.
Tibidabo Park is open almost all year round and in summer it is possible to enjoy the coolness and entertainment until late at night.
But Tibidabo is not just fun: on the mountain there is also a temple dedicated to San Giovanni Bosco, the Expiatory Temple of the Sacred Heart, church built in neo-Gothic style between 1902 and 1961 and divided into two parts: the crypt and the church. From the terrace that overlooks the church you can access (by stairs or elevator) the bronze statue of Christ the Redeemer, the work of Enric Sagnier, from where you can admire Barcelona from 575 meters high.

There are Two ways to get to Tibidabo.. The first is to take the Metro from Plaza Catalunya (L7) and arrive at the Avenida Tibidabo stop. From here you can walk up the funicular or take it. the bus or Tramvia Blau, a very characteristic old blue tram from the beginning of the 20th century. To get to the top, you must take the funicular.
The other way, less touristy and easier, is to catch the line tren S1 o S2 and get off at the “Peu del Funicular” stop, where you can take the Vallvidrera funicular and reach “Vallvidrera Superior”. From here, those who want can walk up the mountain (it takes about 20-30 minutes to climb), otherwise, they can take the bus.
Of course, it is also possible to get to Tibidabo with your own car or, for the more sporty, participate in one of the many excursions on foot expected.
