The wealthy and aristocratic families tend to head for the coasts of southern France or the most renowned destinations in Italy, such as Porto Cervo, Portofino, Capri, ...

But most travelers generally tend to fly or choose Mediterranean beaches and coasts where the various services are cheap.

Moreover, today with low cost airlines reaching these destinations and destinations is also cheap, very often cheaper than a trip by car.

As almost always, the cheapest option isn't necessarily the best choice, but we thought it would be interesting to rank destinations by price.

So, below you will find a list of all the cheapest (and very close) beach destinations in Europe, along with some information to help you decide if the choice is right for you and your needs.

The list and ranking of the cheapest seaside destinations in Europe was made based on the average costs of the services most used by tourists.

Average hotel prices for a week in July have been taken into account, so if you travel or vacation is outside the peak season it may be lower.

The costs of food, drink, and various activities were also considered; except transportation costs. Normally, if you book a flight early enough with a low-cost airline, you won't spend a lot, even in high season.

In many cases, such as for the Greek islands, the destinations listed are good examples for a wider variety of choice which also includes neighboring islands. In other words, you have the opportunity to find more or less similar prices in the neighboring islands.
