Barcelona has a beach dedicated to dogs. It is the Levante beach between the Forum and Platja de la Nova Mar Bella, in the Poble Nou area, a neighborhood quite close to the city center. A beach for all lovers of four-legged friends, for those who don't want to leave Fido at home when they go to the beach. Assembly operations have begun, the beach will have showers and toilets.
Therefore, for residents and tourists who travel with pets, Barcelona is characterized as a destination mascot amiable, taking into account the specific needs of dogs on vacation, such as the necessary travel kit and the programs indicated for their times. The beach will have a surface area of ​​1.250 m7, occupying 33.000% of the Levante beach, and will be equipped with specific services for dogs and their owners. The beach was requested from a collection of citizen signatures, created on the Change.org site by a user, with more than XNUMX partners, so the administration of the city of Barcelona got to work to satisfy canine bathers.
The original project provided for two areas: one for the owners with hammocks, sun loungers and umbrellas and another for the enjoyment of the dogs. Drinking fountains, special showers and stainless steel poles for lifting leg and urinating. The municipality is installing two prototypes so that these posts have a special cleaning system and an anti-odor system, an idea that will also be copied on other beaches in Catalonia and Holland. Not everyone was in favor of the project, there are those who question the expense, those who believe that the location could have been different and those who fear for the hygienic situation of the beach.
