Il Kazakhstan is an Asian state that borders Russia, China, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. This state does not have access to the sea and its only coastal part is in the Caspian Sea area, which however is a salt lake. Thousands of years ago it was probably connected to the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
The best time to visit Kazakhstan and the spring because having a continental climate, it has very cold winters due to the icy currents coming from Siberia and scorching summers due to the hot air arriving from the Iranian deserts.
The typical environment is that of arid steppe, while the rains are concentrated in the north of the country.
We suggest starting the itinerary by visiting the capital of Kazakhstan, the city of Astana, in the north west of the country, which was founded by a community of Cossacks Siberians in 1824. Today it is inhabited mostly by Russians, but also by a small part of German immigrants. The city is served byAirport Astana International and from different ones stations railways. Around the city you can admire the Ak Orda Palace, seat of the president of the state. The structure is topped by a gold and blue dome at the top of which a large spiral has been placed. Among other modern buildings we find the Palazzo of Peace e of Reconciliation, inaugurated in 2006 and built by engineer Happold.
Another important center of Kazakhstan is the province of Oblys Almaty with several centers considered a starting point for a series of naturalistic excursions in the mountains Eskiolmes or within the Park of Koksu Nature. These places hide engravings and rock paintings that date back to the Stone Age. South of Almaty there are various tourist resorts, among which we mention Scymbulak, a winter sports destination and the Great Issyk-Kul Lake, around which you can take long walks horse riding immersed in characteristic nature.
Mountain lovers can join an itinerary that starts from Inylchek and heads towards the massif of Khan Tengri, perpetually covered by snow. In the locality of Tamgaly you can admire the splendid paintings prehistoric engraved on the rock, dating back to the Bronze Age. Other examples of this kind can be found in the Koksu River Gorge.
