A desert landscape that at times recalls the American Grand Canyon and which, in some ways, refers to the magical lunar landscape. This is the Charyn Canyon, one of the most beautiful natural attractions in the world, as well as the main one in the mysterious province of Almaty.
We are in Kazakhstan, it is here that, majestic and overbearing, the wonderful stone castles that characterize the entire area.
The landscape, which extends for about 90 kilometers, opens up to people's eyes with these imposing stone buildings that seem to have been built by man.

Looking at them, you have the impression of being inside a picturesque and evocative film set of which, however, the only creator is Mother Nature who 12 million years ago gave life to one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Known, not surprisingly, as the Valley of Castles, the Charyn Canyon it was established as a national park in 2004. It is located in Kazakhstan, exactly between the Enbekshikazakh, Raiymbek and Uygur districts of the Almaty region and is today one of the most famous tourist attractions in the country.
All thanks to those geological formations that make this area an incredible place. In addition to the canyon area, by far the most suggestive, the park extends over the desert valley of Syugaty and the Ulken-Buguty mountains.

The height of the stone castles reaches up to 300 meters, which makes the entire landscape truly spectacular. But it wasn't always like this. All thanks to the Charyn river, which sculpted the limestone rocks which today appear as imposing towers characterized by streaks of colors that vary from ocher to red. Over time, then, the canyon transformed, acquiring new colors, shapes and dimensions.
The Charyn River, which runs through the valley, also offers a sandy bank where adventurers can spend time and rest in front of nature's most beautiful spectacle.
The best time to visit the Valle dei Castelli is certainly spring or autumn, in these periods, in fact, the climate is particularly favorable for excursions.
