However, the atmosphere is much calmer and the landscape greener. There are also nature trails to reach the waterfalls, such as the Grotta dei Venti, accessible only from May to October.

Bear in mind that you can still visit the Canadian side by crossing the Rainbow Bridge.
Niagara on the Lake
Niagara on the Lake is located about 20 minutes from the falls and is one of the must-see attractions in the area. A quaint town in Art Nouveau style, full of restaurants, cafes and shops. Unlike nearby Niagara Falls, the atmosphere here is more relaxing, less chaotic and never crowded.
Do not miss the road of vineyards and wine cellars.

Buffalo
Buffalo is a city in the United States, about 30 km from the falls. Here is the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Buffalo can be a good base to stay overnight for those who need to sleep near the airport. Perfect for those who need to fly to or from New York, especially if you have an early flight.
Consider that from Buffalo there are several tours to visit the falls in one day or you can take the public bus that leaves from Buffalo Downtown Central Station.
Toronto
Toronto is about 130 km from Niagara Falls and you can reach the falls by rental car, bus, train, or by taking part in organized excursions.
If you are planning a tour of Eastern Canada, but are short on time and can't sleep near the falls, Toronto is the perfect base for visiting Niagara Falls with day tours that usually include Niagara on the Lake.
