Day after day, more and more positive news arrives regarding the international tourism: a few hours ago Peru also announced the reopening of its borders to European travelers and some of its main attractions. Of course, there are some rules to be respected in order to access the country.
In recent days we have reported numerous beautiful destinations around the world which have decided to reopen to tourists: from Oman to the Seychelles, passing through Thailand. Now a new country is added to the list, the Perù. Starting from December 15th, the enchanting South American destination resumed connections with Europe via five new airline routes towards Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Paris.
To enter Peru, you must present a Molecular test negative for Covid-19, carried out within 72 hours prior to departure. Furthermore, it is mandatory to fill in one with your data declaration sworn of health, available at this link.
Once you arrive in the country, you can take advantage of some of the most beautiful attractions which have reopened to tourism in recent weeks, naturally respecting the safety measures to avoid the spread of the infection. In November, the Tambopata National Reserve has finally returned to welcome tourists after 8 months of closure: the Amazonian paradise is a place where you can rediscover contact with nature, immersing yourself in a lush panorama capable of leaving anyone breathless. Likewise, it is now possible to achieve the suggestive Kuelap fortress, albeit in small groups.
Many Peruvian locations have also received the sticker Safe Travels by WTTC, to guarantee the adoption of safety protocols aimed at the well-being of tourists. Deserving of this recognition were, for example, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and Lima, but also the splendid Andean region of Cusco.
With the green light at new routes to and from Europe, Peru is thus returning to encourage tourism in its territory rich in history and culture. However, we must remember that the current Prime Ministerial Decree in force in Italy from 3 December - valid until 15 January 2021, unless further extended - provides for the possibility of traveling to the South American country only for work, health or emergency reasons. Furthermore, for those returning from Peru, it is mandatory to present a self-certification e respect a period of fiduciary quarantine of 14 days.
