Our journey today takes us to Mandurah, a populous and dynamic coastal city located in the territory western Australia, in the Peel region and approximately 70 kilometers from Perth. Many people come here every year to enjoy the splendid beaches that characterize the city and that relaxed and slow atmosphere that has transformed Mandurah into the favorite destination of Perth residents who come here to enjoy the holiday climate.
Ma beaches aren't the only attractions tourist attractions here in the city, because a whole series of natural landscapes of incredible beauty unfold around it. And it is precisely in these that it is possible to encounter the famous Giants of Mandurah, wooden statues of extraordinary heights and majestic features created by the Danish artist Thomas Dambo.
The sculptures were placed in the cities of Mandurah and Subiaco, a delightful suburb that rises around Rokeby Road, in different and secret places that reveal to travelers the curiosities and traditions of the local populations. We are there to accompany tourists on this itinerary of wonders of Bindjareb, the guardians of the Peel Region who are ready to share all the stories related to the territory and the locations where the giants are found.
Much more than an exhibition, Giants of Mandurah is a real one immersive experience which allows travelers of all ages, and from all over the world, to experience first-hand the extraordinary beauty of the Australian bush, its flora, its fauna and its populations.
The Giants of Mandurah
The Giants of Mandurah opera was inaugurated in November 2022 and, as we anticipated, bears the signature of the Danish artist Thomas Dambo. It is a series of enormous wooden sculptures that reach heights of five meters each, and which fully represent the territory and the stories linked to it.
Defined i environmental protectors, the wooden giants have their own personality which is inspired and connected to the local community and the people of the area. The goal is to celebrate diversity, the beauty and importance of nature with works made by hand and with recycled materials, which become the hotspots of a journey of discovery.
