Where to stay in Berlin
Berlin is a modern city, safe and well connected by public transport, so wherever you are you will have no difficulty in moving from one area to another.
It should also be specified, however, that Berlin does not have a real historic center, but has several districts, more or less central, each with its own characteristics and atmosphere.
Among these the best positioned and close to the main attractions is certainly the Mitte, not surprisingly, is the most popular as a location to sleep in Berlin.
But choosing the ideal area depends on your needs and budget.
In this guide we will go to an overview of the main areas where to stay overnight in Berlin, all central and convenient for visiting the city.
NOT
As I told you, Mitte is the best choice to stay in Berlin, is considered the heart of the city and is the ideal solution for getting around easily during the day and at the same time going out in the evening choosing between clubs and restaurants.
The location is the strong point of the Mitte, moreover the area is perfectly connected with the rest of the city, thanks to an efficient public transport service.
The Mitte is full of charm, thanks to the vast cultural offer of the Museum Island and to the monuments that occupy the neighborhood, such as the Brandenburg Gate, the most famous in all of Germany.

ZONA FRIEDRICHSHAIN
It is one of the busiest districts of Berlin, full of historical sites and attractions, it also offers the possibility of staying in a lively area for the evening. In fact, what was once a working-class neighborhood, today it is the alternative area of ââBerlin, the old factories have been redeveloped and transformed into night clubs.
Do not miss the walk in the famous boulevard Karl Marx Allee and the visit to the East Side Gallery, the largest route left in the original position of the Berlin Wall, as well as the longest open-air art gallery in the world.
The area is well connected with Alexanderplatz, with the other districts and with the airport.
The neighborhood of Friedrichshain is a great choice for those who want to discover the authentic soul of the city. It offers many clubs, both in the area of Revalerstrasse that of the 'Oberbaumbrueck, many restaurants and quaint streets to explore while strolling among the locals.

Until the fall of the Wall it was one of the poorest areas of the city, following an important redevelopment work it has now become one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Berlin, very lively, full of events and trendy shops, ideal especially for young people, frequented by students, artists and tourists.
Prenzlauer Berg is a good solution to sleep in Berlin, well linked to the attractions of the city. A neighborhood that is always lively and popular especially in summer, for strolling on sunny days, among cafes, bookstores and shops.

ZONA CHARLOTTENBURG
Charlottenburg is an upscale neighborhood with several boutiques, upscale shopping malls, and starred restaurants.
Charlottenburg is not only a shopping area, but also has a lot to offer as cultural attractions, first and foremost Charlottenburg Palace, from which it takes its name.
In general it is a recommended neighborhood for a stay in Berlin for those looking for a quiet and refined area. For the evening, consider Savignyplatz, an area full of restaurants, bars, cafes and clubs.
Obviously in this area the hotel prices are higher than the Berlin average, but there is no shortage of accommodation at lower prices.
