Seaside village on the Albanian Riviera, Borsch it has a population of only 2500 inhabitants. During the summer, however, its face changes radically: it transforms into a seaside destination, one of the most beautiful and most loved in the entire country.
Thanks to the cultivation of trees and , the popularity of Borsch â in recent times â it has grown a lot. The merit? It's mostly about its beach 7 kilometers long, the beauty of the village, the hospitality of the local population. These are all elements that have made Borsh the most famous destination in southern Albania.
In Borsh, the sea has amazing turquoise and ultramarine shades. It is framed by olive trees, the waves resound in the air as they hit the small pebbles and â yes â it is definitely an idyllic setting that unfolds before your eyes. Here, in this corner of Albania where stress does not exist and the restaurants serve delicious fish dishes, more and more tourists come in search of peace and beauty. Including Italians.
And no wonder: Borsh has preserved the authentic soul of the country, like all the other places on the southern Albanian Riviera. It has remained a simple, old-fashioned village, where beauty meets the comfort of intimate accommodations. Here the hotels and restaurants have super affordable prices, the taverns offer fresh fish every day. And if during the day you can dedicate yourself to multiple activities (sailing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing), during the night tourists and locals meet under the starry sky between music and bonfire.
Although the number of tourists in Borsh is growing more and more, the coastline overlooking the Ionian Sea is so extensive that - here - there are no overcrowding problems. And, although its beach is located close to other spectacular beaches on the southern coast of Albania which, in 2014, was voted in 4th place (out of 52) among the places to visit in the world according to the New York Times.
From the village, you can then go and discover the hidden bays that lie in the surrounding area, changing places every day. Or, you can treat yourself to a small journey into history by visiting its castle, located 500 meters above sea level and reachable via a mountain path. Dating from the XNUMXrd â XNUMXth century BC, it is known as the âSopot Castleâ and is immersed in wild nature, perfect for a day's break from the beach and the sea.
