Surrounded by 330 km of coastline, protected by coral reefs, the island offers breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, with white sand beaches and turquoise waters where you can windsurf, snorkeling, go kayaking or book a spectacular glass bottom boat tour to admire its incredible marine wildlife.
Sailing enthusiasts cannot get lost Grand Baie, a sheltered cove located in the northern part of the island, which is also the starting point for excursions to the northern islets. TO Flat Island e Gabriel Island you can indulge in unforgettable swims while off the uninhabited island Groom Coin, you can snorkel and discover the suggestive ravines where sea birds nest.
Moving south, you will come across a real paradise: the Blue Bay Marine Park, where you can admire the countless colors of parrotfish and various types of marine species. Gray Gray it stands out, however, for the extreme proximity of the coral reef to the shore dotted with restaurants overlooking the sea and offering dishes based on fresh fish, cooked according to the Mauritian tradition.
The paradise for surfers and kitesurfers is located in the west, in particular in one eye, located in Le Morne, which takes its name from the "tube" of the wave (i.e. the tunnel that forms the latter) which draws the shape of an eye.
In addition to the sea and beaches of incomparable beauty, Mauritius offers a hinterland rich in unique and surprising landscapes. If from the top of the Mont Pounce you can admire a 360° panorama of the northern part of the island, an excursion on the Mount Le Morne Brabant, a declared symbol of liberation from slavery Unesco World Heritage, will reward you with a splendid view of the peninsula of the same name and the Indian Ocean.
Another fundamental stage is undoubtedly the spectacular waterfalls: from those of Chamarel, near the colored lands of the same name, famous for their incredible height, at Rochester Falls, where you can swim, until Tamarin Falls, reachable with a guided excursion. Finally, those who want to take relaxing walks in contact with nature must absolutely visit the Black River Gorges National Park, one of the main "green" attractions of the island.
