Not a simple train, but a little train capable of leading you to discover the gastronomic traditions of Switzerland, from chocolate to Gruyere. The Chocolate Train offers a first-class journey to the places of taste in Switzerland. The first stage is the very famous one Maison Cailler in Broc, where chocolate has been produced for centuries. Here visitors will be able to discover the secrets of chocolate, savor this delight and admire how it is prepared. Afterwards the train will land in medieval village of Gruyères, where it is possible to visit the ancient castle, but above all the Maison du Gruyère, where the very famous Gruyere is created.
Il chocolate train it operates every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from May to October and every day from July to August. The trip offer includes not only the use of the train, but also access to the chocolate factory and the House of Gruyere and – a detail not to be underestimated – free coffee and chocolate croissants.
A magical journey, to discover the delights of Switzerland, among villages lost in the hills and ancient traditions. The train leaves from Montreux, a station on the banks of the Lake Genevaat half past eight in the morning. The day starts with hot coffee and sweets. After a few hours of travel you arrive in Broc, where the Cailler (Nestlé) factory is located to stock up on chocolates.
Around lunchtime a bus takes visitors to Gruyères, a medieval town on a green hill, from which the name of the famous cheese derives. After a short historical excursion it's time to taste the goodness of the dairy, not only the gruyere, but also the fondue and the double cream dessert. The trip ends with the return to Montreux in the evening. Costs? 95 euros for adults and 66 for children.
